California birders,

Many of you know Richard Crossley, NJ (& ex-Brit) birder who was co-author with Kevin Karlson and Michael O'Brien on the tremendous book "The Shorebird Guide." Richard has been involved in making documentaries on birdwatching, and particularly on birds in cities; he was recently in California filming segments for one of the shows. It turns out that higher-ups at The Animal Planet network are not certain there is really any market for TV shows about birds and birdwatching. The people producing the bird shows are looking for a strong response from the birding community that there is indeed a niche for such programs. To this end, consider taking a few minutes to look at a demo video clip and answer a few questions. This may help convince the network that this is the kind of programming we want. If you can also pass this link along to birding friends for them to comment, it would be great.

Here is the link...it will direct you to click another link to view the demo, and then you need to return to the main page to answer the 6 questions... the whole thing will only take 5 minutes... Usual disclaimer: I have no involvement or financial interest in this program - it just seems like it is something that would be fun to see on TV.

Thanks, Kimball L. Garrett
