Hi Tweeters,

I finally had a chance to sit in my backyard in Battle Ground, Clark County
for several hours this morning since the computer wasn't urgently
beckoning. I had a few suprises although the number of migrants hasn't
really been very good this Spring. A first for the yard N. ROUGH-WINGED
SWALLOW was a highlight as was a single WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH.

Canada Goose
Red-tailed Hawk
Mourning Dove
Rock Pigeon
Red-shafted Flicker
Downy Woodpecker
RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER (yard year bird)
Western Wood-Pewee
Steller's Jay
Western Scrub Jay
American Crow
Tree Swallow
Violet-Green Swallow (one flying with a feather for a while momentarily
losing it several times and catching it again - it flew over my head and it
dropped the feather and the feather floated down into my hand - and it was a
Barn Owl feather!!!)
Barn Swallow
N. ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW (new yard bird)
Black-capped Chickadee
WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH (yard year bird - first since March of 2008)
Bewick's Wren
Swainson's Thrush - 2
American Robin
European Starling (unfortunately many family groups)
Cedar Waxwing - 20
Orange-crowned Warbler - 2
Yellow Warbler - 2
Wilson's Warbler - 1
Spotted Towhee
Song Sparrow
Black-headed Grosbeak - 8
LAZULI BUNTING - 1 (new year yard bird)
Red-winged Blackbird
Brown-headed Cowbird
Purple Finch - 1 adult male
House Finch
Pine Siskin - 2
American Goldfinch - many
Evening Grosbeak - 12 (flying north towards Vicki's yard - unfed)
House Sparrow
