On May 21, I and a group of birders watched two Vaux's Swifts drop into the chimney of the building adjacent to the Cle Elum Bakery. It is the somewhat tilted chimney of the lunch cafe adjacent to the bakery itself. Given the date and similar observations I've made in Cle Elum in late spring, I imagine the pair of swifts are hoping to nest in the chimney.
