This morning Susie Schaefer and I went out to the wetlands on the
west side of Snohomish that are between the river and Forbes Road.
The parking lot is near the Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery. Birding
was slow but it was a beautiful morning. The only ducks afloat were
Mallards. Lots of Marsh Wrens and Common Yellowthroats were seen and
heard. Lots of Cedar Waxwings were around, as were an Eastern
Kingbird and three Swainson's Thrushes. We only had time for one
more stop so we went to Lord Hill Park and walked to Beaver Pond. It
was the birding doldrums, with only three species.
