This morning, I joined Jon Isacoff, Gina Sheridan, and Sarah (sorry forgot last name) on a short Lincoln county trip. We stopped by Reardon where we found one single WHITE-FACED IBIS on the east side of Audubon Lake. We then traveled north to the south side of the Spokane River in search of one of Gina's nemesis birds, the wiley Pileated Woodpecker. We didn't find the Pileated, but did get a few glimpses of two VAUX'S SWIFTS at the Long Lake Dam.

After being dropped off, I traveled to Sprague to check out the STP and lake. Behind the Sprague STP, I found the continuing WHITE-FACED IBIS there as well. I counted a total of four. Also, there were three BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS there too.

At the lake, I was working the trees along the edge at the Lincoln county boat launch when an awesome adult breeding plumaged FRANKLIN'S GULL flew over. Also, at the Adams county boat launch, I had a grebe bonanza where I found PIED-BILLED, HORNED, EARED, RED-NECKED, and WESTERN GREBES.

South of Sprague, at Fourth of July Lake, I flushed a group of at least 50 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS when I drove up to the boat launch area. I was wondering where they were hiding today.

Good birding!
