Birded the Rockport-to-Marblemount corridor Sunday, May 24. Notably, most of the local breeding specialties had not arrived--there were no E. Kingbirds, Am Redstarts, Lazuli Buntings or even RE Vireos as yet. However, NASHVILLE WARBLERS were fairly common, and in fact were outnumbered by only Black-throated Gray and MacGillivray's, which are quite common in this area. NASHVILLES were found at:

Suiattle River Rd (lower, near Sauk R): 1

Cascade River Rd (lower, near Resort): 1

Other highlights included a female YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD in with Brewer's at the pasture near the Martin Rd access in Rockport, and two BANK SWALLOWS at the Corkindale Creek powerline crossing. Also, I had a strange vireo song at the first riverside overlook just southeast of County Line; it was on the opposite side of the river in the mature cottonwood-mixed forest, so I could not get a look at the bird. At first I thought Red-eyed, but it was too burry, and yet had enough cadence and pitch to be somewhat intermediate between RE and Cassin's, the latter being heard at about 6-7 stops. I wondered about rarer vireos...
