Subject: [Tweeters] Northern Waterthrush corner

Netta Smith and I wandered about Okanogan and Ferry counties on
Sunday and Monday, trying for photos, and had a successful trip. We
saw/heard 107 species of birds with no special effort to do so, and
10 species of dragonflies & damselflies with a bit more effort. The
weather was beautiful, and it was great to see nature in all its
glory. There is so much beautiful country over there.

The only bird that surprised me was a Northern Waterthrush singing at
Nespelem, in wetlands just opposite the Chevron station on the south
side of town on May 25. We had heard several south of Republic, where
I knew they are regular breeders, and perhaps Nespelem represents the
SW corner of their range in WA.
