Yesterday I was returning home from the Folklife Festival, Renton Hill. In a row of large evergreen trees was an angry mob of Crows at least 50. Then I noticed they had something pinned down in?a treetop. They were taking turn divebombing what ever it was. I walked over to try and see what it was. At the foot of the tree I saw what the problem was, the bodies of two baby crows that had fallen or were disturbed out of their nest. I couldn't make out what the predator was until I got some distance away, it was a Red-tailed Hawk. The hawk starting crying out. It really looked pinned down.
?
Neighbors told me that this had been going on for over a half hour and they were roused when hundreds of crows started to fly in. They also said they noticed a third Crow body, I only saw two.
?
In about another half hour the Hawk had vanished, though the Crows were still up in arms. They were still upset this morning. It was very dramatic.
