Dear Chris and Tweeters,

This is an interesting coincidence, your possible Rose-breasted X Black-headed Grosbeak hybrid.

Just today I was chatting with a fellow teacher at a meeting. The teacher lives near Clear Lake (Skagit County). He believes that, for the second year in a row, he has a hybrid RBGR X BHGR at his feeder. I have never gotten around to going over there and checking this bird out.

Rose-breasteds do pop up in WA from time to time; they don't typically stay long enough for very many birders to get a look at them, at least in my experience chasing a few of them in Skagit County.
