I have a pair of Osprey in a wetland (NGPA along Swamp Creek) in south
Everett where I live. We have had Osprey here on and off over the last year
or two. In the last few days I have had a pair acting territorial, catching
small fish, mating and starting to build a nest. Last night was their first
overnight stay.

The smaller of the two birds, which I assume is the male though he is doing
most of the nest building as of now, appears to have a white or silver band
on one leg. They are about 200 to 300 ft off my third floor balcony. I may
be able to get closer but from my balcony he is much too far away to read
any numbers or letters.

Is anyone banding Osprey in Washington? A search on the web wasn't
productive.
