Clear DayAbout 2 years ago I had a wild turkey hen in my backyard. She scratched around looking for tasty tidbits on the lawn, & stayed for a couple hours. I live on Squak Mt. in Issaquah.

Speaking of unusual bird sightings, about 15 years ago I got up on a Sunday morning, turned on the "Sabbath gas bags" (as Calvin Trillin calls the Sunday chat shows), & as I made a cup of tea, looked outside through the sliding glass doors & saw a peacock. He looked back at me & spread his wonderful tail feathers so I could get a good look, then wandered off. I later found out that someone in Issaquah had turned several peacocks loose, & they have been at home here ever since.
