I presume that the rest of Washington is experiencing Cedar Waxwings turning into flywatchers when the midge hatch is at it's height. I was asked recently if the birds feeding on these hatches do so by blind luck or actually pick out different insects. It's clear from some of the photos I took today at Kai Tai Logoon Nature Park in Pt. Townsend that Cedar Waxwings make definite choices. (See ?http://www.flickr.com/photos/37079820 at N07/?saved=1 ). Does anyone know if swallows and other on-the-wing feeders like swallows do likewise or maybe a combination?
