Hello all,
Today we joined John Gatchet and birded up to Lower Monumental Dam, over on
Wooden Road and back south through Eureka. Highlights were:
SNOW BUNTING- 2
LAPLAND LONGSPUR- 3 in with many Horned Larks
This bird is #250 for the Walla Walla County yearlist!
SURF SCOTER - 1 female above the dam
Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch - 1 single bird on Wooden Road.
Golden Eagle - 1 adult in Skyrocket Hills
Rough-legged Hawk - 14 total
Northern Shrike - 6 - only 1 subadult.
Lincoln's Sparrow - 1 bird
Cooper's Hawk - 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1
Great Horned Owl - 2
Barn Owl - 1

Yesterday November 7 we birded the west end of Walla Walla county with John
Gatchet and found:
American Pipit - 250+ birds on Fredrickson Road west of WW
RED-BREASTED MERGANSER - 3 females off the fishing access at Two Rivers HMU
Wood Ducks - 260+ at the Wallula Grain Terminal with 70% of them male.
Common Goldeneye - 5
Common Loon - 2
Peregrine Falcon - 1 on the WWRdelta
Dunlin - 75+
Long-billed Dowitcher - 31
Least Sandpiper - 14
