On my way to the Skagit Flats this morning I stopped at Stanwood and visited
the marsh just north of the bridge to Camano Island on the Camano end. I
spotted a small mostly white bird and my first thought was snow bunting.
With my binoculars I could clearly see the yellow spots characteristic of a
yellow-rumped warbler. I was beside myself with excitement and began firing
off images as fast as I could. The bird was very cooperative and came quite
close to me. Later in the afternoon I stopped back on my way home and it was
still there. What a gorgeous and unusual little bird. I have posted a couple
of images on my website in the "last uploads" album for those who want to
see it.
