Subject: [Tweeters] High-flying Turkeys

I was floating the Klickitat River last Thursday afternoon when a flock of
14 turkeys flew across the canyon about 400 feet above the river. Their
flight path was probably about a mile in length. This would be the highest
and longest flying turkeys I have observed. Interestingly there was a
red-tailed hawk following a few hundred feet behind them. He probably sensed
there was some good eatin' somewhere in there, but couldn't figure out how
to make it happen since a turkey weighs, on average, four to eight times as
much as a red-tail.
