Beach, so I went up there today. The park is Kaya Kaya AC Park and it's
along Richmond Beach Drive at 198th St., at the north end of Richmond Beach.

This is a great place to scope the sound, and that's especially true if
you're in a wheelchair or if you have very small children.

The park is tiny, but features a one-stall restroom, a small children's
playground, and right next to the playground is an accessible ramp up to a
viewing platform that works great for scoping. The platform and playground
are so close, you could talk with your kids while scoping.

I was there at about 10:30 and again a bit after noon. Most of the visible
water is in King County, but you can also see into Snohomish County - the
water in the lee of the industrial pier in in SnoCo.

Birds seen included:

Barrow's Goldeneye - 10
Red-breasted Merganser
Horned, Red-necked, and Western Grebes
Heerman's Gull - 15
Bonaparte's Gull - 20
Common Murre -1
Rhinocerous Auklet -3

Looking to the lee of the pier, in Snohomish County, were 17 BLACK SCOTER
during my morning visit. After noon, the scoters were gone, but I had a
couple of HARLEQUIN DUCK there.

Given that they're buiding houses on the spot we used to scope from, a
publicly accessible Sound viewing area is greatly appreciated!
