The Mute Swans on Capital Lake are likely the same ones present since early November 2008. They were present all winter into late spring/ early summer. Both were noticed again in October and are regulars again.

As to origin, well, you'll need to ask the great Cygnus.

I noticed a pair on Kai Lagoon at Pt. Townsend back around Labor
Day. Perhaps they are free flying and have moved to Olympia. Otherwise they may
be a different pair.

rare of if they escaped captivity somewhere. Worth taking a look if
