Tweets,

Today I got to do a bird survey on the old Bragget Farm east of Nisqually
NWR across the river. Dave Richardson and I helped Kelly Turner, Lisa and
Heather with this project. We were out from about 8:30 until about noon.
The tide was 14.6 when we got there (at the end of Mounts Road) and the
fields were flooded.

Besides the expected AMERICAN WIGEON, MALLARDS, GREEN-WINGED TEAL and
NORTHERN PINTAIL we saw a few GADWALL and one EURASIAN WIGEON. We also saw
about a dozen WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, many RED WINGED BLACKBIRDS and one very
cooperative VIRGINIA RAIL. We also saw a WILSON'S SNIPE and a couple of small
flocks of DUNLIN.

Leaving the refuge about noon I stopped at the start of Nisqually Cut Off
Road and scoped the 3 SANDHILL CRANES that Keith Brady reported on Wednesday
and again today.

All told it was a good day with the weather cooperating.
