I got a late start this morning so I birded the Edmonds waterfront by
myself. I started at the public pier, then scoped from Sunset Avenue
and finally decided to check out the Water Street public access north
of the Shell Creek outfall, accessed from 9th Avenue. I was at Water
Street at 10:30 a.m., thrilled to see five BRANTs, my first of the
season. Then I scoped a little to the right of the Brants and landed
the lens right on another CASSIN'S AUKLET. I'm beginning to think
that there is one bird that is hanging around the south Snohomish
County waterfront. This morning's birds:
