Brien Meilleur and I went looking for Ryan Merrill's Swamp Sparrows at the
Carnation Marsh without success this morning, then proceed on to Fall City
and Neal Rd. in hopes of finding Tom's Red Fox Sparrow (see below for
directions). We had no luck with that but Brien meanwhile spotted an
immature male RUSTY BLACKBIRD in a large flock of blackbirds, cowbirds,
starlings, and pigeons behind a house ca. 0.5 miles north on Neal Rd. from
the round-about on the ne edge of Fall City (just across the Snoqualmie
River Bridge from town). Grace and Ollie Oliver and Joyce Meyer and...
joined us for the viewing.

Hi,
Approximately ~ 1 mile down the dead end Neal Rd in Fall City is a great
weed patch. Sparrows have been thick there all fall. Yesterday, there was
a bright "Red" Fox Sparrow (possibly iliaca). Also close to 30 other Fox
Sparrows, some of which looked to have some "reddish" characteristics.
Almost 50 Lincoln's Sparrows and a couple of White-throated Sparrows there
also.

Further north were 13 Snow and 9 Greater White-fronted Geese at Carnation
Farms, and 310 Snow Geese along Marsh Rd, south of Snohomish. A bit
disconcerting how high a percentage of this year's Snow Geese are
immmatures!
