Subject: [Tweeters] Osprey still at Lake Terrell, Nov. 23

Birders,

Yesterday, November 23, despite marginal weather, I decided to do some
birding around Blaine, Lake Terrell, and the Lummi Flats. The highlight was
the OSPREY at Lake Terrell, perched in probably the same tree (a tall
cottonwood near the manager's residence) where Andrea Warner's group saw it
on Saturday. I took a few photos for the record.

There were large numbers of waterfowl on the north end of Lummi Bay,
including at least 400 BRANT, visible from Decatur Drive, but nothing out of
the ordinary.

Terry Wahl's book on the birds of Whatcom County lists November 15 as the
latest date for Osprey for the county-- with a single January record.
Perhaps regular visits to Lake Terrell will produce a new late departure
date?
