I was doing nothing today and got a call from Ken Kennitle (bad spelling) asking me to help Tom Mansfield get a few birds for his 150/county list for this year. It seemed like a good idea so after finding out what he needed I went out to do some scouting. I went down to Pleasant Valley and Twin Oaks Roads and got to looking for the RUDDY DUCKS and sure enough they were there. There was also a small flock of swans and in the flock of swans I noticed a odd looking goose. Upon closer investigation it turned out to be a ROSS' GOOSE I called Ken and let him know. I ran on out to the Steam plant to see if I could locate a SHORT EARED OWL also something Tom needed. I happened to run into Tom at the steam plant and we talked and I took him back over to Pleasant Valley Rd. After we got back to Pleasant Valley Rd. we found a couple SHORT EARED OWLS.

So nice for Tom we were able to get him three more birds the RUDDY DUCK, ROSS' GOOSE, and SHORT EARED OWL. Putting him at 152 for Lewis County for the year.

The Goose can be found just west of Chehalis in the area of Pleasant Valley Rd. and Twin Oaks Rd. If directions are desired feel free to email me.
