Just a quick update that I misidentified the blue banded bird in my yard. Jack Bettesworth was kind enough to let me know it was likely a COOPER'S HAWK. He has been banding both species and recording locales. The band id'd it as a Cooper's. (I should pay more attention when I am in my yard working!)
