I have been finding large chestnuts and open acorn remnants in and
around my yard, there is a large green belt nearby, but no chestnut
trees and no oak trees that are capable of producing acorns are in the
direct vacinity.

I am curious as to how far away a bird or squirrel will travel for food?

It is so odd to see acorns, when the nearest Oaks are 3/4 mile away.
As for the chestnut trees? I have no idea where they are..... They
must be somewhere!
