It was an interesting morning of birding in Edmonds, as much as for
what was not seen as what was seen. I did an early walk on the Point
Edwards public path and scored three warblers: ORANGE-CROWNED (1),
BLACK-THROATED GRAY (1 ad.), and YELLOW-RUMPED (sev. ads. and
juvs.). There were GADWALLS on the small retention pond, WHITE-
CROWNED, SONG, and LINCOLN'S SPARROW. RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS were
vocalizing loudly.

On the waterfront there were abundant numbers of BONAPARTE'S GULL,
along with HEERMANN'S, MEW, and GLAUCOUS-WINGED. There were DOUBLE-
CRESTED and PELAGIC CORMORANTS, and SURF SCOTERS. There were no
alcids or grebes in sight.

SAVANNAH SPARROWS were at Marina Beach and the Marsh. Both PEREGRINE
FALCON and RED-TAILED HAWK were seen over the Hatchery and Point
Edwards from the Marsh observation platforms. CROWS, GREAT BLUE
HERONS, BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEES, lots of ROBINS and SPOTTED TOWHEES,
and HOUSE FINCHES were about. But Killdeer and any other shorebirds
were absent.

There were also the usual STARLINGS and ROCK PIGEONS around.
