At 9:30 this morning I saw two Red-necked grebes on the Columbia between the
north tip of Port of Kalama property and Cottonwood Island.To access this
spot go west from I-5 exit 32 and turn right onto Trade Winds Rd.
When the pavement goes left through the gate to Steelscape continue straight
on the gravel (either drive or walk) following the fenceline to the
river.Follow this beach north to the tip of a peninsula. The grebes were
between here and the island.
