today's mystery bird is african, but that said, i am certain all of you can identify it to family and a fair number of you should be able to ID the genus and species;

the most recently demystified mystery bird was an immature white morph Reddish Egret, Egretta rufescens, thanks to photographer Joseph Kennedy;
