Hello All,

This morning at roughly 9AM MerryLynn and I arrived at the WWRdelta where we
met up with a very excited Michael Woodruff who let us know that he had just
discovered a BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER out on the delta. We thanked him and
quickly headed out to the bluff. This is a super RARE find on Michaels
part.We have been looking for this sandpiper on the WWRdelta for 25+ years!
It is a Walla Walla County first!! Soon after getting the chairs set up I
discovered a basic plumaged Red Phalarope out in front of us.Michael pointed
out the Buff-breasted on the near delta area. We watched this bright bird
for three hours. We called folks and soon Aaron Skirvin, Ginger Shoemake,
Ron Louderback and Warren Terrell all showed up. The Buff-breasted relocated
to the far delta after several passes by a Peregrine Falcon. After three
hours many of those present decided to go after the PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVER
on the Dodd Rd. Blood Ponds that had been there since 27 Sept. also located
by Michael Woodruff. Off we went to the blood ponds. Upon arriving we set up
and MerryLynn quickly picked out the Am. Golden Plover and soon the PACIFIC
GOLDEN PLOVER. I then scanned the rest of the front blood pond and there was
a second BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER right in front of us! Two in one day after
25-years of seeing none? We also saw an American Golden Plover, 2
Black-bellied Plovers , 1 Franklins Gull all out on the WWRdelta. Thank-you
