I just returned from a brief visit to the fill and thought I would report
the presence of 2 western meadowlarks. They were in the meadow area just
west of the main pond at about noon. It was good to see them return (could
they be the same ones as last year?). I was able to get some great photos
last year and wouldn't mind getting more this year. I also saw a peregrine
falcon make a half-hearted stoop on some crows over the S.W. pond and then
fly eastward. The 12 Greater white-fronted geese (5 adults and 7 juveniles)
were resting on the central pond. No pictures today.
