Tweets and Joseph,
My husband and I witnessed something similar to this "kingbird ride" in July when we were in NM coming back into Silver City from the Cherry Creek Campground. It was a Cassin's Kingbird, one of 2 that had taken out after a female Cooper's Hawk. The harassment was relentless, and one of the kingbirds rode that hawk, much to our amusement and surprise.

If anyone hasn't seen this yet, it is well worth the look. A kingbird riding piggyback on a red-tailed Hawk. I don't think it is photoshoped.
