Subject: [Tweeters] Montlake Fill Shrikes

Greetings Tweets,
I was at the Fill this morning observing the Shrike(s) with Connie and
the other birders. I did observe and photograph two Shrikes. One
definitely appeared to be an adult Northern with gray and black
markings. The other which some of us might be hoping is a Brown
Shrike, seems to be a juvenile Northern as it has a barred pattern
across the breast. Now I am not really a birder mind you, but more of
a nature photographer whose majority of subjects are birds. The Brown
Shrike I believe has quite a different pattern on the underparts.

From our position at the Southwest corner of the fill I could not get
very good images of the bird, but perhaps these will help at least
with a positive ID. I thought that I had seen two Shrikes at some
point flying across the channel from where we were stationed. It
wasn't until I started looking through my images that I noticed the
more adult appearing bird with more pronounced markings. For now I
have only processed a few images of the brown bird that are linked here:
