The question posed by Khanh is one I started asking myself over a year ago. I feel there is a definite degradation of quality over a period of time. Due to that and the increasing slowness of the site, I recently put some photos on a smugbug account. The ones there are large originals but sized down for public display. They are much better quality. More recently I have been working to program my own site and have put quite a number of photos there. I think it will sacrifice a small amount of quality over the smugbug but, if I can learn what I need to, it will allow me to do things other sites won't. Anyway, as to the original question regarding pbase; they have been a great boon for many of us at a time when there was nothing else as good. Now they have fallen behind, possibly due to their own success, and as a result many photographers have been migrating to other places. Sad in a way, but just another sign of the fast-paced competitive world we live in.

As most already know, my pbase is: http://www.pbase.com/jvhigbee

The smugbug is: http://jvhigbee.com/

The new site is: http://josephvhigbee.com/
