The Oak Bay bird sounds rather like a Mew Gull, excepting the tad of red on the bill. Mostly like a 2nd year bird, excepting the brownish smudging on the head.




It is hard to imagine a BT Gull being smaller than a Mew Gull. They should be rather larger.




2nd year Mew Gulls have a nice tail band, as described, a bill that is rather similar to the one described (again, excepting the red).

Among other things, the rather long bill of a BT Gull often leaps out at the observer
