I flushed 3 western meadowlarks on Smith's farm at Schmuck Rd., near
Sequim the morning of Oct. 14, the first sighting I've had of this
species in the area in the year we've lived at this locale. Also
rare, there was an adult pileated woodpecker in the trees lining
Holland Rd. on Graysmarsh property last week.
