I was so lucky to seeing the Black-tailed Gull SO CLOSE!!!!!!
I been going to seeing the Gull three times,but it is impossible to get any
photos of this Beauty,where the 2 pull ups are,even for Digiscoping.I got
there little after 1.PM,running in to Jim Flyn who helped to get a good
Scope look, and the spot to see this bird in excellent light.As you all know
the weather was not always the best with rain and partly fog.Than I saw the
boat where Shep who lives on top the hill and have a boat standing in the
Marina,I cached the second trip wit Greg helping me climbing down the
hill,what wasn't that easy,but well worth the effort,to seeing this great
Gull so close.I got great photos seeing the eye so good and the tail whit
the straight bill,even seeing and showed in my photos the RED SPOT on the
end of the bill.Greg got on this trip the greatest photos in flight ,taken
off seeing still the feet
hanging,I missed this shot,but I have no complains,all of my shots turned
out great!!!!!
Coming home I saw 5 Golden -crowned Kinglet's in my dripping Birdbath,and
the Brown Creeper waiting to get in to the action.This little Creeper been
showing only seldom,but we had this bird least 5 years.Today's and the other
days was worth all the effort to seeing a RARE Bird so close.Even we got so
close this Gulls was not disturbed at all.
