Hi Tweets:

It was a leisurely walk through parts of Marymoor Park on Saturday
morning. After getting past the crush of people with dogs, Mike and I entered the
forest trail where we saw a male Townsend's Warbler among a flock of
Yellow-rumped Warblers, a couple of Bewick's Wrens and Downy Woodpeckers. Upon
leaving the lake viewing are and boardwalk, we could see a Short-eared Owl
flying southeast of the model airplane area. While walking along the east
meadow trail, we scared up two Wilson's Snipe. There was a male Purple
Finch with several Fox Sparrows in the shrubs. The Northern Shrike gave us
good views, initially perched on a small, bare tree, then as it flew across
the meadow to a taller tree. Just beyond the point where the snipe flew
out, a Marsh Wren was practicing its spring song which needs a little more
work. Upon making our way along the soccer fields filled with kids and
parents, we were surprised to see a Northern Harrier circling high above. It was
a good morning with some unexpected birds.
