Yesterday I ventured up to my favorite haunts, the Skagit and Sammish Flats,
in search of raptors and the blue geese reported here recently. I truck out
on raptor photos but did find the blue geese. They were in a family group
which consisted of an adult blue phase (gander based on his aggressive
behavior), a white goose and 5 young blues. They managed to stay toward the
back of the large flock of geese which made photography difficult. I did
upload a couple of images as well as some close-up snow geese in flight
shots to my website for those who might be interested (last uploads album).
I hope these blue geese survive the hunting season so that we can see more
of them in the future.
