Just got back from playing hooky at Hoquiam STP. About 8 birders were
present while I was there ~10:30-1:15. The ORCHARD ORIOLE was last seen
around 10am working its way northward along the fenceline on the E side of
Paulson Rd, feeding among the thistles and blackberries. I believe it was
also observed in one of the conifers in the middle clump (of 3 trees?). The
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was foraging along the fenceline with golden-crowns,
Lincoln's & Song Sparrows, just south of the first (northernmost) conifer
clump. I overheard some discussion whether there may be two birds of
different age, but I didn't catch any details. The CHESTNUT-COLLARED
LONGSPUR was well observed on the dirt track inside the STP fence, E (left)
of the "T" with Paulson, approx 3/4 of the way to the pond's NE corner. A
mostly silent PALM WARBLER was actively feeding with a mixed flock
(chickadee, rc kinglet, H's Vireo) a few feet west of the "T" on the N side
of Airport Way. I stopped at a residence in W Oly and observed an ANNA'S
HUMMER that appeared to be on territory singing. I can provide the address
