All,
I am debating flying out to Seattle over Thanksgiving and need to decide about airfare soon before the prices get more out of hand. I would be interested in hearing what the local perspective is on finding any of the following the weekend of Thanksgiving.:
Ancient Murrelet
Northwestern Crow
Skylark (I have heard rumors there are still a few of these birds on some of the US islands)
Spruce Grouse
Rock Sandpiper
Horned Puffin (from shore)
Bar-tailed godwit (I realize it is impossible to tell if this bird will stay a month, but do the Marbled Godwits usually over winter or do they leave at some point in the fall between now and the end of November?)
Obviously the jewel of the trip would be the Black-tailed Gull (I keep telling myself The Wren has been in Patagonia for a year or more:))
Thanks
