Hello, There were 7 SWANS a-swimming on Capitol Lake in Olympia today, 2 MUTES, 3 adult TUNDRAS and 2 young TUNDRAS. I assume the MUTE SWANS are the same two from earlier this year at the same location; they had disappeared for much of the summer and early fall. Scads of waterfowl arrived in the past few days on the lake, where practically none were last week.
A pair of HARLEQUIN DUCKS was in the Westport Marina on 22 October. A LONG-TAILED DUCK was on the open water nearby on 9 Oct.
