Today there is a roosting Western Screech-Owl at Juanita Bay Park. To see
it walk out the middle boardwalk (easternmost of the two) and follow it as
it turns to the left. The owl is up to the left about five posts before the
next turn to the right, to the right of the large weeping willow. There are
quite a few branches in front of it and it somewhat resembles a wasp nest
until you look closely. There were also two MacGillivray's Warblers at the
park this morning in a quick visit.

Last night there was a young Sora at the end of the same boardwalk walking
around out in the open, and a Barn Owl flew over heading southwest out over
the lake.

The Franklin's Gull was still present through at least Sunday the 30th. The
hybrid Red-naped x Red-breasted Sapsucker that I originally reported as a
pure Red-naped was still in the park through at least Sunday as well.

Good birding,
Ryan Merrill
