At 4:20 this morning I was awakened by two owls calling to one another. They were both in a large deciduous tree that?s just only a few feet from my window. After listening closely for about a half hour, I checked the web and the calls that seem to be a perfect match for Short-eared Owls. Is it possible? They did not seem to resemble any of the calls from the Western Screech family that lives in the Mee Kwa Mooks greenbelt a couple of blocks from my home.
