Subject: [Tweeters] Night heron at Greenlake?

This past week ( at 0615 or so) I saw a large bird on the west side of Glake, not far from the grebe nest site, roosting in the trees. It was still pretty dark, and it moved quickly, so I missed getting a solid sighting. I also hear a kind of squawk. Has any one else seen this mysterious visitor? My immediate thought was "night heron," but I also knew for sure that Adlai Stevenson would be president.
And has anyone seen anymore of the adult river otter?
Further: there has been a kingfisher hanging around the lake as well. What can it all mean?
