Of note at the Montlake Fill late this AM:
A few lingering Vaux?s Swifts among the Barn Swallows
A YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD male, which Connie Sidles had flying over the main pond before I arrived, and was later seen among the enormous reeds across the slough toward the stadium, showing off his sleek, white wing patches.
A hatch-year CHIPPING SPARROW at the main pond, associating with an odd assortment of House Finches, goldfinches, and a pair of Common Yellowthroats.
It could have been the hour, or the lack of time spent in the right places, but I didn?t see a single (non-Yellowthroat) warbler or vireo?
