Birders,

I have just finished uploading some bird photos from last weekend to my
Flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/wcweber . Most of these were
taken on the August 29th pelagic birding trip out of Westport; the rest
(Wandering Tattler, Glaucous Gull, Marbled Godwits, pelicans) were taken in
and near the harbor at Westport and elsewhere in Grays Harbor.

This was one of the best pelagic trips I have ever been on, in terms of the
numbers of species seen (and high numbers of many species). Of course, the
highlight was the GREATER SHEARWATER which was seen well by almost everyone.
It was a life bird for me any many others, and a state bird for almost
everyone. I didn't attempt to photograph this bird, but left it to Ryan
Shaw, who has much better equipment than I and got great photos.

Once again, thanks to Phil and Chris Anderson and to the birding leaders of
WESTPORT SEABIRDS (Bill Tweit, Bill Shelmerdine, and Ryan Shaw) who provided
the usual high-quality birding experience. It also didn't hurt that the
weather was good that day, with light winds.

The list of species and numbers of birds seen on the trip has been posted at
http://www.westportseabirds.com/2009.html .

Good luck and good birding,
