Forgot to mention in my last post that while birding Sunday on
Whidbey Island at Crockett Lake, SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS were quite
abundant. It was interesting watching them (usually two, three or
four together along with Western Sandpipers) crouched behind tufts of
grass along the south end of Crockett Lake. Looked like they were
trying to obtain some protection from the wind.
