Hello All,
Part of the enjoyment of birding is COMMUNICATING what it is you are looking
for or discover. Here in eastern Washington we use FRS hand held radios that
allow you to alert folks to what you have seen bird wise while out in the
field. These have been in use in Oregon for many years. In Washington we
sometimes come across birders who are way out in a park looking around some
distance from you. Its almost like a Monty Python skit where well dressed
folks jump out of a SUV run around looking up into trees, the sky and back
yards and then never let you know what they saw as they jump back into their
cars and drive off. So we beg/suggest that birders get a pair of FRS radios
and alert others to what they see. Short of us chasing birders about and
tackling them to find out what it was they saw. Keep birding fun and please
share what you discover. I know most do already if you come face to face.
Radios are great and work very well.
