Greetings, all,

This morning was another rough one for birds at Seattle's Montlake Fill
(east of the U. W. campus). There were a lot of birders of the
rules-don't-apply-to-me variety wandering, even sitting, off trail,
scattering birds. Flushed birds seen included: a WILSON'S SNIPE, a
couple dozen CEDAR WAXWINGS, and a male RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD with
unusual plumage. The blackbird had a mostly white tail with a black "T"
in the pattern of Magnolia Warbler, white streaks on the belly, and pale
areas on the upper wing. Not surprisingly, no pipits/larks were hanging
about.

At least no one bothered the male RING-NECKED DUCK in the lake and a
couple VAUX'S SWIFTS and VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS among the BARN SWALLOWS.
