Just the facts:

An Acorn Woodpecker was killed by wind turbines in the Columbia Hills Important Bird Area (so designated by the Washington chapters of the National Audubon Society) this past spring/summer??

Wind turbines have killed several Ferruginous Hawks in Klickitat and Benton In Klickitat Co. a Golden Eagle has also been killed by a wind turbine.?

Information recently passed onto me. The fact that woodpeckers, woodpeckers of a relatively sedentary nature, are being killed is -- perhaps -- most disturbing of all; for if these are perishing under the whirring blades, almost any bird is vulnerable.
