Dear Tweeters,

It was good meeting Josh, Tim and Richard the other day at Hayton Access
when we were looking at the Buff-breasted Sandpiper. We returned yesterday,
but only found a couple of Baird's in the ploughed field.

Now we are over on Olympic and today went out to Cape Flattery where we saw
three TUFTED PUFFINS around Tatoosh Island - one brought a fish onto the
cliff top at the left end of the island. During our two hour stay out there
we had a steady stream of southbound Sooty Shearwaters and also 20-30
Red-throated Loons in small groups also passed south. Two single Pom Skuas
(sorry Jaegers) also passed south at 15.00 hrs. A Sea Otter below the main
view point was a delight.

As we returned to Neah Bay we watched a Great Egret fishing along the river
on the right hand side of the road and found a single immature White-fronted
Goose feeding along the river bank nearby.

It was a brilliant day for coming from England we weren't used to seeing so
many loons (3 species), grebes and sea duck on the sea - all three scoter
together in Neah Bay were nice in the afternoon.
